Yo La Tengo debut new track ‘For You Too’

Yo La Tengo have released latest single ‘For You Too’, ahead of their March 18 album release of There’s a Riot Going On.

Recorded by band members Georgia Hubley, Ira Kaplan and James MoNew with no sound engineer, it wasn’t until later in the process that it was mixed by John MoEntire.

It’s a track of slow, phased out guitars and sonic tones, that reflects the drawn out way the track was made; recorded over the course of a year.

Their upcoming album There’s a Riot Going On is Yo La Tengo’s own take on Sly and the Family Stone’s 1971 release There’s a Riot Goin’ On, swapping the original record’s tone of anger and despair to an expression of freedom, sanity and emotional expansion.

There’s a Riot Goin On  will be released on March 18. ‘For You Too’ is available to stream now.
