The xx share short film dedicated to their fans: ‘We See You – Berlin’
After spending much of 2017 touring their third studio album I See You since its release in January, The xx have shared an emotive short film and homage to their fans, titled ‘We See You – Berlin’.
‘We See You – Berlin’ celebrates the intimate bond between The xx and their fans, focusing specifically on the fans and what the English indie pop band mean to them.
Directed by Berlin-based filmmaker Sylvie Weber, the film is a culmination of live and documentary footage from The xx’s headline act at Berlin’s Lollapalooza festival in September earlier this year, containing portraits and interviews with some of the band’s fans.
“Coming across truly engaged and earnest individuals was not difficult,” said Weber of the collaboration.
“The vulnerability that The xx expose in their music is the basis for their incredibly close connection to the fans themselves.”
“I think we’ve managed to represent in these four stories the feeling of the many millions who are so profoundly affected by the harmonies of Romy [Madly Croft], Oliver [Sim] and Jamie [Smith].”
The mini-documentary is the first in a series of ‘We See You’ films, with each one to be centered on a different country.
“We’re genuinely moved by the incredibly beautiful portraits of our fans. We see you Berlin. We love you,” The xx add.
The xx will be returning to Australia in January 2018 with shows in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.

‘We See You – Berlin’ is supported by and exclusively available on YouTube.
