Warpaint announce Australian east coast tour

LA indie-rockers Warpaint have announced they will be returning to Aussie shores next February to play a trio of shows on the east coast.

The tour will celebrate the release of the band’s third full-length album Heads Up, which hit the shelves last month.

Warpaint will be entertaining audiences at The Triffid in Brisbane on the 22nd of February; Melbourne Zoo on February 24th; and the Sydney Opera House on February 25th.

This will be the band’s third tour of Australia after successful headline shows nationally and festival appearances at Laneway and Splendour In The Grass.

Heads Up sees the band stepping away from their hazy, darker sounds and turning towards a faster, dance-orientated record.

“We’ve always had this really jammy, high-energy live show compared to some of our records,” vocalist Emily Kokal said in a statement.

“We all love to dance. We didn’t want to take away from the emotion or the core feeling of what our band is all about – which I don’t even think we could take out if we wanted, because it is who we are – but we wanted to bump the speed up and have a little bit more fun.”

Tickets for the shows can be purchased here.
