Vikki Thorn

Vikki Thorn announces debut Australian tour

Vikki Thorn has revealed she will tour Australia solo for the first time in March, fronting her own trio along with Heath Cullen and long term Waifs bassist Ben Franz.

Thorn has been singing and touring as one third of The Waifs for 25 years, an integral part of the outfit well known for her powerful vocals and harp playing.

Throughout her career, she has sung with the likes Bob Dylan, Levon Helm, Paul Kelly, John Butler and Missy Higgins.

Her new collection of songs portrays the humour and heartbreak of life, drawing inspiration from her time in the harsh and glorious landscape of the canyons of Utah.

Themes of country blues are a move away from the folk style genre The Waifs are known for. Going has solo also allowed her to explore her passion for old R&B.

Vikki Thorn and her trio will play her first headline shows around Australia this March. Tickets for all shows are on sale now.
