The Prodigy drop single ‘Need Some1’ ahead of new album
British electronica group The Prodigy have just dropped their latest single ‘Need Some1’ and its accompanying music video. This track serves as the first single pulled from their upcoming seventh studio album No Tourists, which is due for release on November 2.
The Prodigy formed back in 1990, and have been dubbed as pioneers of the big beat genre. With a career spanning almost three decades, the group have recieved a number of Brit Awards and rtwo Grammy nominations.
A fast-paced track, ‘Need Some1’ is sure to get you up and dancing with its futuristic sounding synths and the sampling of vocals by Loleatta Holloway.
The video itself is a bit edgier, bringing a dark, violent feel that you wouldn’t think pairs well with the song, yet it does.
No Tourists was mixed over the past year by front-man Liam Howlett. While keeping tight-lipped over what we can expect from the album, Howlett has only said that the album is “equally aggressive as the last records – but in a different way”.
‘Need Some1’ was released July 19 via BMG and you can check out the music video down below. No Tourists will be out November 2 and is currently available for pre-order here.
