The Fix Ups genre-mashing debut album arrives in style

The Fix Ups self-titled debut album is finally here and it is the cure to dull dance floors and mediocre mainstream tunes.

“We wanted to record these songs as quickly as possible to capture the energy of writing them,” says the trio’s Marlene Samson.

“The sound jumped an order of magnitude with the addition of real drums. And recording the whole album in two days was stamina provoking.”

After travelling all over America on a 17 date tour, the trip sent to band into creative overdrive once back in Australia, setting up a makeshift studio in a Templestowe farmhouse to sculpt their debut album.

Consisting of Samson, Nikos Shannon and Ash Meaghre, the trio produced an eccentric album of eight vibrant songs all begging to be danced to.

The album is a bag of allsorts with each track inducing a unique wave of euphoria.

The Fix Ups will be launching the new album on Thursday 13 September at Melbourne’s The Gasometer Hotel, along with guests Dayelle and The SUBstance and Glass Diamonds.

The Fix Ups debut album is out now.
