Pusha T returns to Australia
American rapper Pusha T has announced a series of east coast headline shows this January, returning to Australia for the first time since joining Kanye West on his Yeezus tour.
Born Terrence Thornton, Pusha T began his career in 1992 as one half of Clipse – with his brother Gene ‘No Malice’ Thornton. Collaborating with Pharrell Williams (everything he touches turns to gold, etc), Clipse signed to Elektra Records in 1997 and released their debut record soon after. Plenty of success followed.
With Clipse on an indefinite hiatus, Thornton signed as a solo artist on Kanye’s G.O.O.D. record label and hasn’t looked back.
Thornton’s debut studio album, My Name Is My Name, featured guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross and Kelly Rowland, and peaked at number 4 on Billboard’s US album chart.
Pusha T’s highly anticipated sophomore album King Push is due to be released in early 2016.
Tickets for upcoming shows go on sale at 2pm Friday, October 30.
