Phil Collins is returning to Australia in 2019

Music legend Phil Collins will return to Australia for the first time in more than 20 years with his Not Dead Yet: Live! tour in January and February next year.
The five-date tour kicks off on Saturday 19 January in Brisbane, followed by Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne.
Collins’ highly-anticipated comeback tour began in the UK and Europe last June, with a stack of sold-out arena shows. He’s just completed a South and Central American tour and will head for North America later this year.
The drummer and former Genesis frontman made his solo debut in 1981 with chart-topping album Face Value featuring the hit single ‘In the Air Tonight’.  He went on to score multiple top 10 singles including ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’, ‘Against All Odds (Take  A  Look  At Me Now)’, ‘One More Night’ and ‘A Groovy Kind Of Love’.
Collins retired from music in the early 2000s citing health issues, before announcing a return to the stage a couple of years ago.
“I thought I would retire quietly,” said Phil of his return.
“But thanks to the fans, my  family and support from some extraordinary artists I have rediscovered my passion for music and performing. It’s time to do it all again and I’m excited. It just feels right.”
His band will feature longtime touring members – guitarist Daryl Stuermer (Genesis), keyboardist Brad Cole, bassist Leland Sklar and percussionist Luis Conte, along with a horn section and backup vocalists. Phil Collins’ 16-year old son, Nicolas, rounds out the band on drums.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday 5 September, from 9.30am (AEST) at ticketek.com.au.  A Telstra Thanks presale, exclusive to Telstra customers, starts Thursday 30 August, from 10.30am (AEST) and is open until Sunday 2 September, 5pm (AEST). Go to telstra.com/philcollins for further details.
