Odette announces national tour ahead of debut album release
Sydney singer-songwriter Odette has just announced a national tour in support of her upcoming debut album, To A Stranger, which is due for release on July 6.
Odette’s sound is a mixture of soul, jazz and pop, which can be attributed to her mother introducing her to soul music and her grandfather being a jazz pianist. Her steady rise culminated with her single ‘Watch Me Read You’ hitting number fifty-six in last year’s Triple J’s Hottest 100.
Now 21, Odette has been working on her debut album since she was 17. Each song on the record portrays an experience that listeners can relate to, examining the emotions she went through during her transition into adulthood.
Her upcoming tour in support of the record with originally set out as a seven-date tour. However, it has since expanded to eleven shows to keep up with demand, and will be kicking off in Adelaide on August 10 and finish up in Brisbane on September 1.
Joining Odette is Melbourne R&B artist Thando, who first came to prominence after appearing on season three of The Voice Australia. Already an up-and-comer in the Australian R&B scene, she’s collaborated with the likes of Sampa the Great and REMI.
