Missy Higgins drops new music video, announces new album and tour

Australian song writing extraordinaire Missy Higgins has revealed that her long awaited fifth studio album, SOLASTALGIA will be released on May 4th, 2018.

Higgins, who is currently on the road with pop powerhouse Ed Sheeran on his record breaking Australian tour, has also unveiled a brand new video for the album’s lead single, ‘Futon Couch.’

Speaking about the new video, Higgins struggles to hide her excitement.

“I think this was the most fun I’ve had filming a music video. I never thought I’d catch myself doing choreographed dancing in one of my film clips but if there’s any song I’ll ever do it for, it’s ‘Futon Couch’!

“I’m excited for people to see this, it’s very different for me!”

And if Missy’s legions of fans didn’t have enough reason to be excited, on top of this album/video combo she has also announced an east coast tour that will run throughout the month of May.

The tour will kick off in Queensland at Brisbane’s QPAC Concert Hall on Friday 4 May (aka SOLASTALGIA’s release date, and International Star Wars Day) and wrap up in Higgins’s hometown of Melbourne at the Palais Theatre on Sunday 13 May.

The tour will she her joined by special guest, Sydney based artist Gordi.

“I’m so excited to finally road-test my new tunes in all these beautiful venues across the country.

“This album is really different from anything I’ve done before, I think people will be really surprised, but I think the songs will fit nicely alongside my old material, too,” says Higgins.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday 7th March at midday.
