Ministry of Sound to take over Kings Park with Perth Symphony Orchestra
Perth is about to be delivered an insane night of legendary house music with a twist by Ministry of Sound.
The special event, Orchestrated, is a celebration of classic dance tracks performed live with the Perth Symphony Orchestra and guest vocalists Daniel Merriweather, Alison Limerick (UK) and Ilan Kidron (The Potbelleez).
Taking over Kings Park and Botanic Gardens on Saturday 24 March, Orchestrated is a concoction of the favourite dancefloor moments of the past 25 years combined with the experience of a live symphony orchestra.
Classic tracks from iconic artists such as Fatboy Slim, Moby, Underworld, Shapeshifters and Massive Attack will be rearranged, remixed and reimagined to take audiences on a journey through the greatest moments in dance music.
“After working in clubs and events for 25 years, the chance to take these much loved records onto a big stage in this exciting new format with a full orchestra is a brand new chapter in the ever evolving story of the Ministry of Sound brand,” said Tim McGee, CEO of Ministry of Sound Events Australia.
Leading the orchestra will be acclaimed Conductor Jessica Gethin, alongside Musical Director Adam Sofo.
Music will be arranged by platinum-selling artist and composer Lionel Towers (Gypsy & The Cat) and Lionel Shave (Etherfox, [love] Tattoo).
“As a conductor, my job is to bring music to life on stage; this show brings a party to the stage,” said Gethin.
“To have the chance to conduct some of the best dance anthems of all time reimagined by a symphony orchestra is going to be an extraordinary experience for the entire audience… bring it on.”
Orchestrated is on Saturday 24 March at Kings Park and Botanic Gardens.
Pre-sale is on now through to Sunday 14 January.
Tickets go on sale to the general public 9am Monday 15 January.
