Lorde announces Australian leg of Melodrama Tour
Already shaking with anticipation for an upcoming album release, Lorde fans have been sent into meltdown this morning with the announcement of Australian dates on her Melodrama world tour.
The tour will kick off with dates in Lorde’s native New Zealand, before crossing the Tasman for visits to Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, as well as a coveted headline slot at Canberra’s Spilt Milk Festival.
Lorde released her debut record, Pure Heroine, at just 16 years old, resulting in immediate success and young Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor being whisked around the world for international tours and Grammy Awards acceptance speeches. Pure Heroine reached #1 in over 20 countries, including Australia, New Zealand and America.
Her forthcoming sophomore effort, Melodrama, has generated enormous buzz among a dedicated fanbase. Produced by Lorde, the esteemed Jack Antonoff and Frank Dukes, the album was recorded between Jack’s flat and Electric Lady Studios.
Lorde is bringing the Melodrama experience Down Under for her first Australian shows in over three years, so be sure to catch one in November!
Melodrama is out June 16, and tickets for all shows are on sale June 19.
