Kesha postpones Australian tour due to injury

Kesha has been forced to postpone her Australian tour dates and canceling her headline act at Bluesfest Byron Bay due to a knee injury.

The singer fell during a show in Dubai on February 9 and tore a ligament, which now needs surgery.

Fans who have purchased tickets to the Australian shows have been told to hold onto them and wait for further information.

“It’s my biggest joy in life to share my music with my fans all over the world, but I have to follow my doctor’s orders and undergo surgery, so I can get ready to give it my all on my summer tour and beyond,” the singer said in a statement.

“Moving these dates is making me sick with sadness, but I tried to will this injury away and unfortunately it didn’t work.”

“I love you all and I’ll work every single day, as hard as I can, to recover and get back on stage as soon as possible.

“I’m so sorry and sending love always.”

Kesha is still scheduled to take on a three-month North American tour with Macklemore, starting Wednesday 6 June in Phoenix, Arizona.

Last year Kesha returned with ‘Praying’, her first single in four years, and released her latest album Rainbow.
