Gordi says ‘I’m Done’ with new video
Folktronic singer-songwriter Gordi (aka Sophie Payten) has revealed the video for latest single ‘I’m Done’ from her debut LP Reservoir.
The sparsely arranged track features friend and collaborator S. Carey (Bon Iver) on vocals, with the video no less heartbreaking than the song itself.
Filmed by Melbourne artist Giulia McGauren, the track portrays the song’s themes through interpretive movement.
“When I heard Sean Carey sing the vocals on this song for the first time, I felt this feeling I get when a piece of music really connects with me,” says Gordi.
“It’s this nexus of familiarity and new. It reminds you of somewhere you are coming from and moving towards. The video was inspired by Bernini’s Apollo and Daphne; a statue that captures an entire narrative in an instant.”
Currently on a 23-date tour throughout the US and Canada supporting Son Lux, Gordi will soon head to SXSW 2018 in Austin, Texas to play eight showcases over three days.
She will then play her first Australian shows since her album tour at the end of last year, supporting Missy Higgins on her Solastalgia tour in May.
