Foo Fighters announce Australian stadium tour with Weezer

Foo Fighters are set to rock Australian stadiums when they return in January and February 2018 in support of their ninth studio album Concrete and Gold.

Adding to the excitement, Foo Fighters have announced they will be joined at all shows by Weezer, plus a local opener from each city on the tour.

Foo Fighters were last down under on their 20th Anniversary World Tour supporting their eighth album Sonic Highways.

Concrete and Gold is the Foos’ latest release since 2015’s Saint Cecilia EP and the band’s first full-length album in three years.

The first taste of the new album was hard rock anthem Run, and a mind-bending video directed by frontman Dave Grohl.

Produced by Greg Kurstin (Adele, Sia, P!nk), Concrete and Gold combines hard rock extremes and pop sensibilities in a way only Foo Fighters can.

“I wanted it to be the biggest sounding Foo Fighters record ever,” said Grohl.

“To make a gigantic rock record but with Greg Kurstin’s sense of melody and arrangement; Motorhead’s version of Sgt. Pepper – or something like that.”

This tour will be Aussie fans’ first chance to experience tracks from Concrete and Gold live, along with much-loved tracks like Everlong, Times Like These, My Hero and Learn To Fly.

American alt-rockers Weezer will play their first Australian shows since their Blue Album Memories tour in 2013, and only their third Australian tour in their 25-year career defined by tracks like Say It Ain’t So, Buddy Holly, El Scorcho and Undone – The Sweater Song.

Weezer are set to release their eleventh studio album Pacific Daydream on October 27.
