Dram releases new EP, ‘That’s A Girls Name’

American R&B/rap artist DRAM just dropped his latest EP, That’s a Girl’s Name on July 19 via Atlantic Records. The EP follows up his recent stripped back cover of Outkast’s ‘Prototype’, which was a fantastic cover of a 2000s classic.

The Virginian rapper, whose name stems from the acronym “Does Real Ass Music”, only released his debut single ‘Cha Cha’ back in 2015. He rose to prominence however, when he released his breakout single ‘Broccoli’ featuring fellow rapper Lil Yachty in 2016.

‘Broccoli’ was a hit, peaking at #5 on the US Billboard Charts and receiving a 2017 Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Sung Performance. DRAM also snagged a Grammy nomination in 2018 for Best Dance Recording after featuring on ‘Andromeda’ by the Gorillaz.

That’s a Girl’s Name is a three track EP filled with songs that have a bit more of a pop-rap sound, whilst also incorporating a soul feel. A great record, this can hopefully tide us all over until the release of his second LP.

DRAM recently took his spectacular live shows to Australia in December 2017 and January of this year for Falls Festival and Sydney’s Field Day.

That’s a Girl’s Name is out now via Atlantic Records and is available for stream or purchase here, listen to his cover of ‘Prototype’ down below.
