Dashboard Confessional Announce New Album
Dashboard Confessional has announced their long awaited new album, Crooked Shadows, will be released on February 9th 2017 on Fueled By Ramen. Crooked Shadows will be Dashboard Confessional’s first album in over eight years, since the re-release of their first album The Swiss Army Romance.
The album has been in the works for nearly a decade, and has been produced by Chris Carrabba, Jonathan Clark and co producer Colin Brittain. For Carrabba, the entire project has been a cathartic and exploratory venture.
The album explores Carrabba’s reclamation of the simple yet extraordinary moments that have become the silent catalyst of his songwriting, as he reflects on experiences of his and those close to him.
“Every album is personal,” Carrabba said in the official press release.
“But as this album was coming together I realised, especially as the world’s political climate was rapidly changing, that ‘personal’ did not necessarily mean ‘mine.’ Suddenly, ‘Me’ became ‘We’ and that realisation was empowering, comforting and terrifying all at once.”
Crooked Shadows will feature a few special guests, with Cash Cash, Lindsey Stirling, and Chrissy Costanza of Against The Current bringing their style to several tracks on the album.
This is welcome news for Confessional fans desperate for new material. They will now have to wait an agonising three months for the release.
The first single from Crooked Shadows, ‘We Fight,’ can be streamed right now.
