Clipped Music Video Festival announces Lineup and new home at Carriageworks
Clipped Music Video Festival has announced its return to Vivid Ideas 2018 at its new home of Carriageworks, set to commence on June 2.
Clipped aims to give insight to musicians, music lovers and the community to understand the work behind the visual components of music.
It is a one-of-a-kind event celebrating music videos as an art-form, through interactive exhibitions, competitions, premieres, live performances, discussion panels, screenings and VR explorations.
“I’m so proud that CLIPPED is heading into our third year as part of Vivid Sydney,”says Festival Director Sam Bright.
“It’s a beautiful city and an amazing time to hold such a unique event, now well known for putting a spotlight on the best music videos from Australian and New Zealand.”
The event will feature a collaboration of industry experts, from filmmakers to musicians.
Headlining the festival is artist and music video director Jesse Kanda, who has worked behind Björk‘s Utopia artwork and ‘Mouth Mantra’ video, and FKA Twigs’ LP 1 artwork. Other speakers include musician Sarah Blasko, photographer and music video director Mclean Stephenson and ABC Rage curator Tyson Koh.
CLIPPED will also be hosting a film clip competition to showcase Australia and New Zealand’s best music video talent, all for the chance to win a $17,000 prize pack. Submissions for the competition are currently open, and will close on Monday May 7.
