Boyzone announce final album
Iconic Irish outfit Boyzone have announced their next album which, sadly, will be the band’s last.
Titled Thank You & Goodnight, it is set for release in mid-November. After six UK #1 singles, five UK #1 albums and being together for 25 years, the band have decided to call it a day.
“When we started out as five young Dublin Northsiders, eager to face the world, we never imagined that we’d still have an army of fans some twenty-five years later,” said band members Ronan, Keith, Mikey and Shane.
“We really can’t put into words just how much you, the fans, have supported us along the way. Without that support, we would have never achieved what we have, and for that we’re eternally grateful.”
In the lead up into their final album, the band has released a new track, ‘I Can Dream’, a tribute to their late bandmate Stephen Gately who passed away in 2009.
“We came across a demo that he originally recorded for his solo album in 2002 and we’ve had the opportunity to re-work the song and add our harmonies alongside his lead vocal,” said the band.
“It was a bittersweet experience to hear all our voices together again. It’s the closest the five of us will ever get to being in a room together again making music.”
Thank You & Goodnight is now available to pre-order, and ‘I Can Dream’ is provided as an instant download when pre-ordering.
The album will officially be released on November 16 of this year.
