Bastille Announces first Australian Shows in Four Years
Australia hasn’t seen UK indie-pop band Bastille in over four years, but fans won’t have to wait much longer!
The band have announced they will be touring Australia in September, and that their third studio album is on the horizon.
Forming back in 2010, the band broke out into the mainstream with their single ‘Pompeii’, in 2013. The hit won the band a BRIT Award for Best Breakthrough Act and commercial success, with their debut album Bad Blood the best-selling digital album in the UK for 2013.
Bastille will only play two headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne, so tickets will be sure to go fast.
Bastille are planning on releasing a third studio album in 2018, with details of this yet to be revealed at this stage. Earlier this month, they released the first single off the upcoming project, ‘Quarter Past Midnight’.
The track is what you’d expect from Bastille, with a catchy pop style and a bit of a dance beat to it, perhaps signalling a shift in their sound for the upcoming album.
Joining Bastille on tour is Sydney indie-pop artist Nicole Millar, who is best known for her 2014 collaboration with Peking Duk, ‘High.’ Millar will be releasing her debut album next month, so to work with Bastille shows the potential she has as an artist.
Ticket details for general admission can be found here, and will go on sale tomorrow at 10am.
The single ‘Quarter Past Midnight’ is available to stream here.
