Bad Pony drop latest single ‘Knife’ ahead of SXSW 2018 Tour Dates
Sydney indie rock quintet Bad Pony have channelled their inner Nirvana with their latest single ‘Knife’, which was released last week.
Hot on the heels of their 2016 sophomore record, Deficiency, Bad Pony have playing at events such as the 2017 Canadian Music Week, and picking up accolades like the ‘Music Prize Winners Award’ at the 2017 Australian Music Week.
This year, the group had already being announced as one of the bands who will perform at SXSW 2018 in Austin, Texas, and if ‘Knife’ shows an indication of the show they are going to bring along, they will be looking to shank the festival patron’s ear drums like a rusty shiv (in a pleasant, Netflix prison drama kind-of-fashion).
Mixed by Adrian Breakspear (who has previously worked with Gang of Youths and Pharrell Williams) and recorded out the band’s Sydney studio, ‘Knife’ is as dirty as it is cheeky.
Possessing a virulent, honest-to-god rock sound and unashamedly wearing it’s grunge influences on its sleeve, it will be an absolute treat for those attending SXSW.
Bad Pony will be playing as part of SXSW 2018 from 11th-17th March. ‘Knife’ is out now.
