Alison Wonderland teams up with Trippie Redd on new track ‘High’
The new super-chill track may not have her recognisable vocals but certainly feels like the DJ’s familiar sound.
For those that don’t know, Redd is the new rapper of the moment hailing from Ohio. At a mere 18 years old, he’s been described by many as “rap’s next rockstar” having already released two US gold singles. Tracks from his debut mixtape racked up over 16 million plays on Soundcloud and nearly 12 million streams on Spotify. The music streaming service has applauded the rapper’s “versatile style, one that blends elements of cloud rap and trap with the energy of punk and stadium rock”.
Wonderland herself said working with Redd was “a real pleasure”.
“It is important to vibe with an artist before we collaborate,” she said.
“When he heard this song it was very organic and he jumped in the booth and we walked out feeling that we had something special. I felt like this song had a certain spirit and wanted people to feel like they were going on a journey with us, just like when watching the music video.”
After the launch of the album, Wonderland will be getting ready to hit the Coachella stages before moving on to Tomorrowland and her own North American tour in August.
Alison’s not one to forget her home crowd and will be holding three intimate launch parties in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane at the start of May.
Fans who pre-order the album at certain locations will receive a ticket to the party of their choice.
