Abbe May serves up 2018 Australian tour dates
Australian singer-songwriter Abbe May has announced an eight-date national tour across Australia in 2018 to celebrate her eagerly anticipated album Fruit.
May will be taking her new tracks to the stage in Perth, Adelaide, Dunsborough, Melbourne, Hobart, Sydney and Newcastle during February and March, with more dates still to be announced.
Fruit, which is due for release 2 February, will be May’s first album since coming out earlier this year, and promises to be the singer’s most open and honest delivery to date.
“Fruit is a declaration of identity,” said May.
“These songs are stories from my life. Some true, some exaggerated, but always for a purpose.
“I don’t want to hide anymore. I am proud and Fruit is my way of showing my face without shame.”
To celebrate the announcement, May has revealed a sneak peak at the artwork for Fruit and announced album pre-orders will receive the track Oh, Babylon early.
The special gift Oh, Babylon revolves around a defining moment in May’s career.
“I remember being quite serious about lyrical integrity and wanting to construct a very visual song about a very stormy love affair,” said May on the track.
“I was young and hadn’t quite learned to back myself completely.
“I back myself now.”
Fruit is out 2 February 2018.
