Papa Roach is looking for a support act, and you could be it
Yep, you read that right.
Papa Roach, the Californian group behind some of the biggest rock hits of the noughties, are coming to Australia for a headlining national tour in support of their most recent album, Crooked Teeth. The big news is that they are looking for an exciting up-and-coming group to serve as their opening act.
The artists behind chart toppers ‘Last Resort’, ‘She Loves Me Not’ and ‘Scars’ sent the call out to Australian musicians earlier this week. Aspiring solo artists or bands need to send a song or music video, based on influences in either rock, punk rock or alternative genres, to the band.
The winning artists will be hand-selected by Papa Roach.
DJs are also eligible for selection to spin tunes during the show.
“We know what it’s like to work hard for our dreams. Help us spread the word cause we want to give you a leg up on the music industry ladder,” said Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix.
The competition, titled “Are You Born for Greatness?” is open now. Entries close Monday, 15 January.
If you are an artist looking for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, email AreYouBFG@gmail.com with a song, video and a list of your influences. Be sure to note which shows you’re applying for in your email.
