What So Not releases new single ‘Be Ok Again’ with Daniel Johns
What So Not (Chris Emerson) has released his first track ‘Be OK Again’ with Counter Records, a track that features Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns.
Emerson released a statement on Monday discussing how the collaboration came to be after Johns walked past a studio where Emerson was “jamming in a session with Slumberjack.”
“Dan seemed intrigued and started joking he had to leave before he decided to cancel his plans and track vocals with us for the next 10hrs,” Emerson says.
“We clicked instantly on concepts, character development, sonics and writing styles, then locked onto one song in particular. ‘Be Ok Again’ was a really personal track for me.
“I was kind of embarrassed to show someone of his calibre as I had written and sung my own topline to feel out the idea. To my surprise, he loved it and not only was he happy to re-sing my parts, he encouraged me to keep my voice on the record.”
Daniel Johns says working with Emerson was “eye opening.”
“A real professional with a great vision, we worked on tracks for this album and we’re really proud of the work,” says Johns.
“I’m excited for people to hear the first taste of our collaboration.”
