Jen Cloher unveils self-titled album, new single and national tour
Jen Cloher, Melbourne’s punk-rock figurehead and co-founder of Milk! Records, has announced her new self-titled album due to be released on August 11.
The artist’s fourth LP, Jen Cloher, is a powerful and bold record, which explores Cloher’s place in the music scene, gender identity and relationships.
The fact that it is self-titled promises just how personal and honest it will be.
To kick-off the upcoming album, Cloher has released the first single Forgot Myself, along with an official music video (which also features several Milk! cameos).
Forgot Myself channels the difficulties of maintaining a long-distance relationship and the sacrifices made for it.
“You want to be with your partner celebrating big moments in their life but at the same time you have your own life to live thousands of miles away,” Cloher said of the song’s inspiration.
“It’s easy to stop taking care of yourself. Easy to forget yourself.”
And to top it all off, Cloher has also announced a national tour, which will kick-off August 24, to celebrate the album just weeks after its release.
Jen Cloher is out Friday August 11.
